Q: If migrating to Cloud services why do we still require seperate IT support?

A: If you currently have an internal IT manager or IT team, they manage the breadth of technical issues for your staff across a full spectrum of IT on a day-to-day basis

When a company migrates to hosted Cloud services including either hosted desktops, servers, eDM, storage, telephony, you will still require your IT to setup or remove staff and manage users day-to-day for your software or SaaS programs including CRM & ERP,, databases, Exchange email /365. Plus IT management across your Local Area Network (LAN) that includes data cabling, patch panels, patching (VLANs setup), switches, routers, computers hardware & monitors, keyboard & mice, printers/faxes, PBX System user setup, telephony handsets & headsets, Internet connectivity and WIFI, just as you would with traditional on-premise equiptment.

InClouds offer a remote support service 'RemoteIN' to provide this first line support and liaise with various vendors including for the above, as well as supporting your LAN side for your company and staff.

As Cloud services themselves are constantly monitored and maintained to offer up to 99.999% for service uptime (SLA), plus managment of all backend resources to consistantly provide an optimal end-user experience, this negates the need for your IT team to manage your company's estate of Microsoft Windows OS and Windows server(s), including constant updates and security patches.

If you also migrate your current hardware over to become thin client (dumb terminals), there will be no Windows environment to manage at all.

Migrating your current desktop computers and laptops over to dumb terminals requires removal of the Microsoft's Windows Operating System (OS) to be replaced with IGEL OS, turning the hardware into a thin client (ideally your current computers will have a respectable motherboard, plus processor chip (Intel i3 or i5), a central control unit (CPU), a fairly capable video/graphics processing card (GPU), 4GB to 6GB RAM, plus suitable power supply unit (PSU). With IGEL OS installed you can now use this hardware to run hosted desktops and manage all of your terminal estate centrally (remotely).

No more costly refresh cycles replacing PC hardware and server(s) every 3 to 5 years.

With our Internet4Life fibre leased line, as this is a managed service, we maintain the circuit plus the router, with the option to add an additional card into the unit which can be programmed to automatically fail-over to a seconday circuit, in the event of the primary circuit dropping out or losing connectivity. (cables get cut in roadworks, telephone exchanges can have fires). Outages can be minimised by implelenting 2 cicuits from alternative provicers, with diverse routing into your office.
